PBSA MEMBER

We are proud to be a member of The Professional Background Screening Association (PBSA). PBSA exists to promote ethical business practices, compliance with the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and foster awareness of issues related to consumer protection and privacy rights within the background screening industry. PBSA has membership accreditation criteria that assure member companies meet high standards. CI President, Michelle Pyan, has served on the PBSA Ethics and Accreditation Committee.

One way PBSA helps businesses and CRAs (Consumer Reporting Agencies) to comply with the increasingly complex laws that impact background screening is the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) training and certification program. Organizations that invest in staff training demonstrate an understanding of the law and mitigate non-compliance problems with obtaining and using information contained in a background check. PBSA is proud to offer the FCRA Basic Certification Program, which has been developed to provide a basic knowledge of FCRA regulations. The Advanced Certification Program is intended for background screening professionals in leadership positions and those who set compliance policy and make compliance decisions for their enterprise.

Many Commercial Investigations LLC staff members have received the PBSA FCRA Advanced Certification, and even more have received the PBSA FCRA Basic Certification.
