How does Origin work?

Origin starts by analyzing the subject’s social security number (SSN) and running it through our Social Security Number & Address Information (SSN Trace) inquiry.  

This powerful tool conducts SSN and address verification while identifying various names (aliases) associated with the SSN.

Additionally, it provides valuable information on prior addresses and movement patterns.

Next, all the identified names are run thorough our Multi-jurisdictional Criminal inquiry.

This comprehensive search encompasses over 800 million records from US counties, Department of Corrections (DOC), Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC), and sex offender registries across all 50 states, Washington DC, Puerto Rico, and Guam.

The term "multi-jurisdictional" is a more accurate representation of what data is actually being obtained.

However, the terms National criminal search and Nationwide criminal search are interchangeable with multi-jurisdictional. No inquiry provides better instant coverage of the United States than this search.

Included in CI’s Multijurisdictional (National or Nationwide) Criminal inquiry is our Multistate Sex Offender Registry inquiry, also commonly known as the National Sex Offender Registry.

This inquiry collects sex offender data from numerous nationwide sources, such as Bureaus of Investigation, Departments of Law Enforcement, Departments of Corrections, Departments of Justice, Departments of Public Safety, Sheriff's Departments, State Attorneys' General Offices, and State Police.

It encompasses data from all 50 states and the District of Columbia.

Additionally, Origin searches national and international terrorism sources, incorporates a database of over 4.1 million photos, and utilizes a proprietary database of previously completed reports.
